Weekly News ~ August 28

Dear Families,

Our eclipse day was quite a day, and I hope one that is memorable for a lifetime! We were lucky to have one pair of approved glasses, and a perfect backdoor location for a peek out of it.

Wednesday is an early release day, and is also picture day. If you’d like to purchase pictures, please get the envelope to me by that day.

Our testing days are coming up in September. The COGAT is Sep. 6-9, and the Iowa is the following week, Sep. 11-15. We’ll talk more when we get closer to the date about preparedness.

Here’s our learning plan:

  • Math-Multiplication concepts
  • Reading-Character traits, asking &answering questions
  • Writing-Revision & editing
  • Lang. Arts-Synonyms, possessive nouns
  • Science-Rocks and Soil
  • Read Aloud-Peter Pan

Spelling words: rocket, pocket, hold, told, often, grow, throne, so, sew, most, almost, both, coach, open, also

Thank you to Grayson’s family for providing a class basketball!

We can use some snack donations as the cupboard is bare. 🙂

Have a great weekend! Hope to see you at the picnic!

Mrs. Pennington
