I hope you’ve all stayed safely tucked away while waiting for Irma to pass through. It seems that the worst didn’t come to be in this area, but of course our hearts go out to the many victims of hurricanes Irma and Harvey.
In school, we’ll just pick up where we left off. IOWA testing for our students has been rescheduled for Thursday, September 14 through Tuesday, September 19th. As a reminder, please see that your child arrives to school well-rested and well-fed on test days because the testing takes up a good portion of each morning and requires stamina.
There will be no homework and spelling for this week or next. Daily reading is still encouraged! By the way, please help your child keep up with a home reading log as there are rewards for ones completed. 🙂
Thank you to all volunteers who donated test snacks! We could also use some donations of treasure box items (toys, erasers, pencils, lolly-pops, etc.).
When we’re not testing, we’ll be learning about American Indians, multiplication/division, reading comprehension strategies, and narrative writing.
See you tomorrow!
Fondly, Mrs. Pennington
