Dear Families,

We anticipated a normal week and then the flu and other illnesses hit. We had 4-5 children out each day except Friday, with only 1 absence. So maybe NEXT week will be normal!

There are 2 weeks before our February break, and we’ll be busy with fractions, the colonies, and opinion writing which the children are enjoying. I’ll send home the Valentine’s Day class list next week. Each child should address a valentine to every classmate and then we’ll exchange them on Wednesday the 14th. It’s so much fun!

Here’s what we’re learning this week:

  • Math~ Fractions, writing and representing
  • Reading~ Responses to Peter Pan
  • Writing~ Expanding on opinion pieces
  • Lang. Arts~ Spelling, conjunctions
  • Social Studies~ The Colonies, Northeastern & Middle
  • Read Aloud~ Harry Potter
