Weekly News ~ December 17

Dear Families,

The holiday whirlwind of activities is well underway, and Mrs. Mann and I have an exciting week before our winter holiday! We’re still learning, though!

  • Writing – Purposeful writing (messages, cards, etc.)
  • Reading –  Holiday stories
  • Language Arts – Review
  • Math – Multiplication math facts, 2- step problem solving

Our Holiday Party will be from 12:30 – 1:30 on Wednesday! Our room mother and volunteers have planned a festive time!

Holidays are always special times for both relaxation and enrichment. Here are some websites for creative fun:

Have a great week!

Weekly News ~ Dec. 3

Dear Families,

The busy season has begun! We’ll keep you updated through this blog and SeeSaw alerts!

Happy birthday, Michael and Carter!

Here’s what we’re learning this week:

Math ~ Problem solving, area
Reading ~ Ask & answer questions, Paul Goble Plains Indian books
Writing ~ Editing & revision, text features
Science ~ Fossils
Social Studies ~ American Indians of the Great Plains & Southwest

Only three more weeks to master the multiplication facts 0-5! Keep up practice every day to meet the goal of knowing the facts by heart. Once they’re known, go for speed.

Please help your child remember to dress well for the weather. We had a few days with a windchill below freezing, and a few children without coats had to stay in for indoor recess. Mrs. Mann and I would rather they have time outside to run and scream and play!

Kincaid Elementary has put the annual “Giving Tree” in the front lobby of our school. If you or your child would like to donate a toy or clothing item for a child in need, please select a paper ornament from the Giving Tree. Please purchase the item listed on the ornament and place the unwrapped item under the tree by December 14th. All items will be delivered to MUST Ministries for their Toy Shop benefiting needy families in our community. Please contact our school counselors if you have any questions about the Giving Tree. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
