This is my 2nd year at Kincaid! I transferred from another Cobb school to be closer to my home and family, and I am immensely fortunate to have been chosen to join such a terrific school community! I have been married 35 years to my husband who is in the elevator and escalator business. We have a grown daughter. She is a speech therapist, and a graduate of UGA and Florida State. She and her husband just welcomed a new baby girl into the world! They, and my own mother, live within 2 miles of me! That is huge for me as I grew up an army brat and lived thousands of miles from extended family most of my life. My family hails from Colorado and Kansas. I’ve lived in 11 states, Germany, Japan and Okinawa—before we settled in Marietta 28 years ago.
In the last 19 years, I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades. I have a master’s in early childhood education from KSU, a bachelor’s in journalism from Kansas University, and a gifted endorsement. I love teaching all subjects, but am especially passionate about writing, science and technology. What I love most of all is teaching children! I’m happy to get up every morning and come to school and have a learning adventure with them.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, read, work on creative projects of different types (currently quilting), listen to music, bicycle, cook, enjoy the great outdoors, play around with technology, and travel.
