Dear Families,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had rest, adventure, family time and joy! I have been overwhelmed with gratitude for the special people in my life, both my family, friends, and all of you!

Thank you so much for you class gift of yummy treats, and the Amazon gift card which I have happily spent on some great books to read (mostly nonfiction and historical fiction).  I was showered with treats, pretty things, gift cards, coffee, cards and pictures for my birthday, and I appreciate your thoughtfulness so much.

A very special thank you goes to our room mother, Mrs. Wallace, for pulling together the resources and parent volunteers to make a terrific holiday party for the children! They had a blast.

Here’s our learning plan for the week:

  • Writing – Short responses to reading
  • Reading – Patricia Polacco author’s study, Read aloud: The Tale of Despereaux
  • Language Arts – Spelling, compound words
  • Math – Polygons
  • Social Studies – Mountain Habitat of Georgia

Here’s our special homework for the next 2 weeks. Children are still responsible for spelling words and any math homework.  HRJ January 5, 2016

The eagles we’ve been observing have laid 2 eggs! If you’d like to track their progress, click on this link:  SouthwestFloridaEagleCam                                                                Later on, towards Spring, we’ll observe our eagles here in Georgia, too, at the Berry College Eagle Cam.

A special shout goes to our December and

January birthday kids!
