I am new to Kincaid this year. I transferred from another Cobb school to be closer to my home and family, and I am immensely fortunate to have been chosen to join such a terrific school community! I have been married 34 years to my husband and we have a grown daughter. She is a speech therapist, and a graduate of UGA and Florida State. My mother, daughter and son-in-law live within 2 miles of me! That is huge for me as I grew up an army brat and lived thousands of miles from extended family most of my life. My family hails from Colorado and Kansas. I’ve lived in 11 states, Germany, Japan and Okinawa—before we settled here 27 years ago. I love to travel, and when I can’t, I read about it!
In the last 18 years, I have taught kindergarten, first, second and third grades. I have a master’s in early childhood education from KSU, a bachelor’s in journalism from Kansas University, and a gifted endorsement. I love teaching all subjects, but am especially passionate about writing, science and technology. What I love most of all is teaching children! I’m happy to get up every morning and come to school and have a learning adventure with them.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and my active, lovable and ornery Cairn Terrier, read, work on creative projects of different types, listen to music, enjoy the great outdoors, play around with technology, and travel.
