Happy New Year to all and Welcome Back to the second semester of the 2012-2013 school year.  This will be a very busy semester for us in the Sprayberry Chorus and I would like to encourage you all to get as involved as possible.  We have two Chorus concerts this semester— March 04, 2013 and May 02, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the SHS Theatre, our Large Group Performance Evaluation, The Spring Musical—“THE WIZ”, our spring trip to New York City, and we will wrap up the year with our annual Spring Chorus Banquet on May 17, 2013. 

I look forward to a wonderful semester of music making and fun!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful first week back at Sprayberry.  We have already started working here in the Choral Program and I am excited to hear the blend of voices in every chorus.  On the first day of class your students received a Sprayberry Chorus Handbook, please make sure you have read over this document with your students and both of you sign the back page.  On Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 6:30 pm we will have a Chorus Parent Meeting here in the Chorus room (In the Fine Arts Wing).  This is an informational meeting and also a night for you to sign forms (we will have a notarary here for that mandatory Health Form) and pay fees.  Each and every student must have a health form on file with me for me to take them off campus for any school related reason!  Please plan for at least one parent to be here for the Parent Meeting.

Also,  we are happy to announce our spring trip is to New York City.  The trip will be April 17-20, 2013.  Each student received information, either through the mail or during class, about the trip.  PLEASE adhere to all the deadlines for payments.  It is important that we get the deposits in on time.  There will be a lot of fundraisers throughout the year so all students will have the opportunity to join us on this wonderful trip!

I want to congratulate all of our students who participated in the 2011 Masterworks Concert.  It was a great collaborative program with the Fine Arts Department.

If any of you would like a recording of the concert, please turn in your order by Wednesday, December 14, 2011 to Mr. Autry.  Please have your order in on time because late orders can not be accepted.

 

The Sprayberry Chorus will be selling sets of sheets (available in all sizes—Twin, Full, Queen, or King) all year long.  The sheets are $35 per set (any size) and are made of microfiber, this means they won’t wrinkle and they dry very quickly in the dryer.  There are eight colors available: Navy, Eggplant, Creme, White, Aqua, Gold, Sage, and Chocolate.  All sets include a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillow cases.  If you are interested in purchasing a set of sheets see a Sprayberry Chorus member or let Mr. Autry ([email protected]) know.  Orders will be placed with the company once a month or more frequently if the demand is higher!

Students gain 40% profit from this sale and the money they raise will go into their student credit account!

On Monday, October 17, 2011 at 7:00 pm the Sprayberry Chorus will present their Fall Chorus Concert.  The concert is Free and all are invited to attend. Come support the Chorus members as we kick off our concert series with a diverse concert guaranteed to be enjoyed by all!

All Chorus members need to be in the Chorus room no later than 6:15 pm (dressed and ready to go)! 

A quick reminder that all students need black dress shoes to go with their uniform.  If uniforms haven’t been paid for then the student will be loaned a uniform to wear for the concert.

Welcome Back!

I want to welcome you all back to the 2011-2012 school year.  It has been a very busy start to school here in the Chorus Program.  We are slowly getting settled and unpacked in the new chorus room.  Our new room is a large, state-of-the-art, space that will allow for maximized growth and provide many different learning opportunities for your students.  If you haven’t seen the new room I would like to encourage you to stop by and take a look!

On SEPTEMBER 12, 2011 at 6:30 pm we will be having a CHORUS PARENT MEETING in the New Chorus Room.  This room is located in the New Fine Arts wing that is by the theatre.  It literately sits at the intersection of Sandy Plains and Piedmont.  PLEASE make every effort to attend.  I will be going over all the information you will need for your child to have a successful and fulfilling experience in chorus.  Also, Your student has been given a “SHS CHORUS HANDBOOK” with forms and an explination of fees.  The forms and fees are due back by September 16, 2011.  If you pay your $80 dues by September 16, 2011 (Either by Cash, Check, or Credit Card via Paypal) then you will get a $10 discount and your dues will only be $70 (instead of $80).  Payment plans are available for these dues.  If you need a payment plan, PLEASE don’t hesitate to ask!  I can get more information out if that is something you desire!  Please make every effort to get your dues and forms in on time!
