Ø  Monthly Challenge Homework Due Wednesday, Oct. 31st.  Students are to return their English homework—Math and Language Arts packet AND Spanish homework—Phonics and Science worksheets. Please remember that homework is to be returned in student’s green homework folder upon arrival to school in order to participate in Lunch Bunch. New monthly challenge homework will come home on Thursday, November 1st.

Ø  Friday—we will visit the Learning Commons. Please have your child bring their book to allow them to check out a new one.

Just a friendly request. As it is getting cold, we have a ton of jackets to zip and unzip each day. Please practice having your students INDEPENDENTLY put on and zip their jackets. Also, don’t forget to look to make sure you have weather appropriate extra clothes, as the weather is getting cooler and kiddos are getting taller.

With 48 kiddos, it may be helpful to write your child’s name in their jacket. We follow a daily routine for jackets. Prior to leaving the class at the end of the day, jackets must be worn out of the classroom or put in the book-bag. This is checked daily in each class to assure there are no jackets left behind. We also walk the classroom prior to the students leaving to ensure there are no jackets that got mixed up in either class.  If students have lost their jacket, it typically has taken place during ASP time since we follow these procedures daily. Please check with ASP lost and found.

THANK YOU for Backing the Jack!  We received 3 grant items from the Nickajack Foundation. Many many thanks for allowing our program to bloom with hands on learning, Spanish resources for the DLI program, as well as a hands on in house field trip for Kindergarten students!

Thank you all again for all you do! We look forward to a great November!
