Thanks for a wonderful year! It went by so fast. Once again Cobb Schools are partnering up with Cobb Public library to encourage reading over the summer. Please visit http://www.cobbsummerreading.com/ for some great reading resources.
Here are Pickett’s Mill, we will be having a reading celebration in the fall for all students who read at least 600 minutes by the end of the first week of school. Students can jot their reading times/dates on a sheet of paper and turn it in to your teacher in the fall OR you can log your minutes on Scholastic’s Summer Reading site at http://www.scholastic.com/ups/campaigns/src-2017/kids. Students received a sheet of paper with a label attached that had their log in information attached.
Have a great summer and get out there and read!
Research time is in full swing here at the Mill. Have you thought about using Sway to make your presentation? Sway is an easy-to-use storytelling app by Microsoft. All Cobb County students have the ability to access Microsoft products both here and at school through their student account. Questions? Stop in and see me! For an online tutorial on how to use Sway, check out this YouTube video.
Make sure to check out the ebooks that we have in Destiny. We have over 350 books to choose from. You are even able to read them offline. In order to read the books, you will need to be logged into Destiny. If you don’t know you log in, make sure to stop up in the Learning Commons. To read the books on your device, you will need to download the free app. Click HERE for more information.

A big thank you to all our parents, volunteers, students and staff for helping us have another great bookfair! We raised over $2,700 for our Learning Commons. We appreciate your generosity and your support of our library program.
