Happy Monday to you all!  I hope you had a good weekend and I hope that you are well! Take care of yourselves!  I sent out an email to you and your parents about the latest updates from the College Board about AP exams.  I will attach the link and I encourage you to read it.  As  I get more information, I will let you all know.  I am going to use Forms to have you submit some of the assignments.   Please email me if you have any questions 🙂

Explanation of the  Weber’s Least Cost Theory… it is very similar to Von Thunen’s Model except it deals with the location of the factory  and Von Thunen deals with the best location for agricultural products and fields.

  1. Watch the video clip over Weber’s Least Cost Theory and answer the questions

A.  What is Weber’s Least Cost Theory trying to determine and what is its main goal?

B. What are the 4 main factors of the Least Cost Theory?

C. What are  the 2 main factors of transportation?

D. What is the difference between Weight losing (Bulk Reducing) vs. Weight Gaining ( Bulk Gaining) ?

E. Go back and look at Weber’s  Least Cost Industrial Triangle- What should be labeled as A,B,and C?

I hope you all are well!  I hope you are enjoying our new unit over Industry and Development.  As you complete the lesson, think about how all of the other units (topics that we have talked about) impact industry such as population distribution/density,culture,politically, and agriculture.  Remember, everything is connected 🙂

B.  Using the map over Flow of Capital  (Slide 7),  where did Britain and Spain get its exports from?                  Why do you think these countries relied on other countries for exports?

C. Using the map over Diffusion of the Industrial Revolution(Slide 19), make 2 statements about how              the  Industrial Revolution diffused across Europe.

D.  Fixed costs = costs that do not change and variable costs =costs that vary

Give 2 examples of fixed costs  and give 2 variable costs in factory production.
