I enjoyed meeting with all of you last week. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you have.
The Fun Run was wonderful!! I loved seeing our class runners Brayden, Ela, Eva-Rose, Tyler, Prisha, Milo, and Ari.
Our learning focus:
Reading- This week we will focus on Author’s Point of View and Details. We will have many lessons this week and also work on this skill in guided reading. The children need to continue taking their AR test. We go to the library as a class on Wednesdays but they are welcome to go in the mornings before school if needed.
Science- We will learn about the Changes that can occur on Earth by animals, people, weather, and plants. This will also be our first informational writing.
Spelling/Phonics: oi words is our focus this week. The words and homework will come home on Monday.
Math: Adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers with regrouping. Homework will come home on Tuesday and Thursday.
What else is going on?
- Blast Off was sent home on Friday and is due this Friday. Don’t forget to use MobyMax-Fact Fluency as a way of practice.
- The STEM Lab is looking for empty cereal boxes (please remove the bag and any crumbs inside). There will be a basket outside the STEM Lab for the boxes. We will be using them later this year for some designing challenges. Thank you ~ Ms. Marchelle.
- On Friday, the children can wear their costumes to school if they pay a fee to The Foundation. More information will be sent home this week.
- Foundation Halloween Dance Friday from 4-6.
