I am so proud of our class! We are the H.E.R.O. attendance winners for the month of October. H.E.R.O. stands for
R-ready to learn
We had the highest daily attendance among all of the 2nd grade classes and won a PAJAMA day. Your student can wear school appropriate pajamas on Monday, November 13.
Thank you, parents for sending your child to school on-time and ready to learn, every day they feel well! I hope our class will win again next month!
Our learning focus:
Reading/Social Studies- This week we will read and learn about James Oglethorpe. He worked together with Tomochichi and Mary Musgrove in founding of Georgia. This week we will have a test over him on Friday. A study guide will come home on Wednesday along with vocabulary words. Last week we had an open book test on Sequoyah.
Spelling/Phonics: OU and OW words. Their list and homework will come home Monday.
Grammar: Reflexive Pronouns
Math– We will continue learning about Measurement and work on word problems with measurement. The children will have homework on Tuesday.
Thank you Sophia for the delicious donuts! Hope your birthday was wonderful!!
What else is going on?
- Blast Off was sent home on Friday and is due this Friday. Don’t forget to use Moby ax-Fact Fluency as a way of practice.
- Guidance on Wednesday and Science Lab on Thursday.
- The Giving Tree to support the Must Ministries Toy Shop will begin on Monday, November 13th. If you would like to participate, you or your child may take a paper ornament off of the Giving Tree. On each ornament is a label with a gift for a child in our community. Please purchase the item and turn the NEW and UNWRAPPED item under the tree. We will collect gifts between November 13th and December 15th. If you have questions about the Giving Tree, please call the counselors office. Thank you for your generosity.
