State Project Update

February7

So many of you have been working so hard on your state projects.  Ms. Stanley and I are so proud of the work you are doing.  I want to remind you that you can go to Culture Grams on the Cobb Digital Library and get various information for you project.   Once you’re in CultureGrams, click on “States Edition,” then click on your state, scroll down to “Fun Facts & Contacts,” then click on “For More Information” and get the number of the tourist information phone number or website and explain that you are in fourth grade and you are working on a state project for school.  They will send you all kinds of cool things that you can put out during the “State Fair” that may result in some “extra credit!”  Not only that, but you’ll get mail at your house with YOUR Name on it.  Not Mama’s name, not Dad’s name, but your name.  Best of all, it’s all free!!!!

If you have already checked out a book from the media center on your state, please be sure to bring it back by Monday, so that Ms. Stanley can have it available for you all to use when we are in the media center next week for our lessons!   I’m very excited about the projects and I’m looking forward to all the great things we’ll learn about the states!  IF you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me or Mrs. Homer.

Office 365

July14

I am very excited to announce that all students will have the Microsoft Office 365 digital tools suite unless you as a parent previously selected the opt-out decision.  You are now able to confirm your students’ access and/or gain their log-in information, you can locate that information via ParentVue (https://parentvue.cobbk12.org).  This is a great way to be able to engage your students, so I’m very excited.  Please look for more information to come.
