Opener: Review STEAL for analyzing characterization.

Work Session:

  1. View Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland; analyze characterization of one of the characters Alice encounters down the rabbit hole.
  2. Create a character who could appear in Wonderland; write a persona poem characterizing your imaginary character.

Closer: Read independent reading book; work on POL analysis and memorization.

HOMEWORK: No Red Ink practice due Sun.; continue ZINC!

 

Tuesday, October 2

Opener: Review “I Remember You” requirements and view student samples.

Work Session:

  1. Compose “I Remember You” poem.
  2. Write reflection #1 for “I Remember You” poem.

Closer: Read independent reading book; work on POL analysis and memorization.

HOMEWORK: No Red Ink practice due Sun.; continue ZINC!

 

Wednesday, October 3–Computer Lab (bring laptop if you wish)

Opener: Review tips for voiceover, finding sound files, and creating aesthetically pleasing visuals (fonts, transitions, images).

Work Session:

  1. Create “I Remember You” video.

Thursday, October 4

Opener: Review reflection tips and write reflection #2 for your “I Remember You” poem.

Work Session:

  1. Collaborate with peers to practice POL recitation (trios).
  2. Introduce Shakespeare and The Tempest with NearPod.

Closer: Read independent reading book; work on POL analysis and memorization.

Friday, October 5

Opener: Continue introduction to Shakespeare and The Tempest with NearPod.

Work Session:

  1. View images from The Tempest.
