Monday, March 11

Opener: Perform 1.2; complete “Somebody Wanted But So” statements.

Work Session:

  1. Read Othello 1.3; read 1.3 antiphonally, analyzing Othello’s rhetorical prowess.
  2. Review sonnets in context of the Duke’s speech/poetic language.
  3. Ring the Changes–Brabantio’s Parting Shot

Closer: Compose multiple choice questions.

Homework: Read your EPCOT novel; work on ZINC (2nd checkpoint March 15).

 

Tuesday, March 12

Opener: Compose FRQ for sonnet prompt.

Work Session:

  1. Complete TWIST for Othello 1.1.

Closer: Compare STEAL for characterization in 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.

Homework: Read your EPCOT novel; work on ZINC (2nd checkpoint March 15).

 

Wednesday, March 13–EARLY RELEASE

Opener: Watch PBS video and the Fishburne adaptation through 1.3 up to Iago’s confrontation with Roderigo.

Work Session:

  1. Analyze Iago’s rhetoric in 1.3; compare/contrast AP Lang focus on argument/rhetorical triangle vs. AP Lit focus on figurative language
  2. Compose a CEI paragraph analyzing how Shakespeare uses language to develop Iago’s character.

Closer: Fill in animal imagery and word trace charts, analyzing patterns in Act I.

Homework: Read your EPCOT novel; work on ZINC (2nd checkpoint March 15).

 

Thursday, March 14

Opener: Rehearse and perform “Fred” scenarios to solidify understanding of the role of subtext in interpretation of the scene.

Work Session:

  1. Read 2.1 and 2.2.
  2. Assign groups for 2.3.

Closer: View the Fishburne adaptation up to 2.3.

Homework: Read your EPCOT novel; work on ZINC (2nd checkpoint tomorrow).

 

Friday, March 15

Opener: Review expectations for EPCOT group meetings and documentation (Schoology structure).

Work Session:

  1. EPCOT meetings: complete a TWIST analysis from the second  section of your novel.
  2. Compose 2 theme statements for your EPCOT novel.

Closer: Analyze 2.3.

Homework: Read your EPCOT novel; work on ZINC (2nd checkpoint tonight 11:59 p.m.).
