Week of September 18th

What a very busy “shortened” week we had!  I’m so thankful that everyone was okay during the storm with minimal damage.  We have much to be thankful for!

UPCOMING DATES:

9/18 – WellStar will be joining us for a lesson on Making heathly food choices

9/22 – 8:00-9:30 – Entrepreneur Day – All parents are welcome to shop.  Tickets are 5 for $5 and if you send in money with your child on Thursday, there is a pre-sale deal of 6 for $5.

9/25-9/29 – FALL BREAK – No School

 

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS WEEK:

Math:  We are continuing to focus on subtraction with regrouping.  We will be extending into word problems and checking with addition.

Reading:  We are finishing up theme and summarizing this week.

Writing:  We are finishing up our fictional narratives and will publish them this week.  Our personal narratives are on display outside our classroom.

Spelling:  We are beginning a new sort that will not be due until October 6th –Spelling Homework Sort4.

Grammar:  Our shortened week didn’t allow us to finish up this past week’s mentor sentences, so we will complete that this week.

Social Studies:  We are finishing up Native Americans, Reasons for Exploration and end our week on Entrepreneur Day activities.
