Week of October 30th

What a full and productive week!  We accomplished so much this week!  It’s hard to believe we are already at the end of  October.  Where has time gone?  Most of the kids selected their book report book this week.  It’s time to get started and read!

IMPORTANT DATES:

10/30-11/3 – Book Fair

11/6 – Patriot Day – Wear Red, White and Blue

11/7 – No School for students/Teacher Work Day

11/10 – Spirit Night at Jumping World

11/17 – Book Reports are due

 

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THIS WEEK:

Math: We are beginning factors and multiples and will move into the area model representation of multiplication.

Reading: We will be focusing on point of view and perspective.

Writing: We are finishing up a short opinion essay.

Grammar: We are focusing on the homophones: Their/There/They’re, To/Too/Two, and Your/You’re

Spelling: Our spelling sort 6 test will be on Friday.

Social Studies: We are jumping into colonization with a focus on the northern, middle and southern colonies.
