What is Science Olympiad

Elementary Science Olympiad events take advantage of the natural curiosity of each child, and allow for in-depth hands-on experiences.

The East Side Elementary Foundation funds our Science Olympiad Program through a grant. We are very thankful to the Foundation and to the parents who donate each year!

Our Science Olympiad program at East Side Elementary School involves hands-on experimenting, in depth scientific research and independent study. Only students who are self-starters, motivated and mature are accepted. During the year, our Science Olympians work together as a team and prepare to compete against other teams in Cobb County. After the County competition, the team prepares to compete against other teams from all over the State of Georgia.

Testimonial from a former Science Olympiad!

This says it all!

“Good luck tomorrow! I remember the first year of the team at State, and feeling very proud of myself and the team. Working on the team gave me a lot of experience and knowledge which I have used on the Dodgen Robotics Team. I am currently trying out for the Walton Robotics Team team and have been accepted into the engineering STEM program. The East Side Science Olympiad team helped me achieve these goals and is a great foundation for STEM. Good luck again and have fun.”
