Happy Hump Day and Day 32 of Digital Learning! This week is Virtual College and Career Week. Please see the email I sent to your parents on Friday and the schedule posted to our blog on Friday for daily activities. Today’s theme is: “Dress For Success” – Wear a nice outfit you would wear on an interview.  Post your picture to the Pitner PTSA FB page for a chance to win a $25 gift card! Also plan to come to our last class Zoom meeting today at 10:00 dressed for success. We’re going to have riddles and raffle prizes and we’ll take a class picture!

Today is Wednesday,  May 13th, the 171st day of school. Can you show a way to make $1.71 It can be by using a coin counter like we did in our classroom, or drawing the coins, or actually using coins. If you make $1.71 today, please email a pic or post it in Seesaw so I can share it with everyone! Thank you McCutchen and Brynn for sharing the ways you made $1.70 yesterday.

 

Lessons for TODAY:

READING/SCIENCE – We’ll continue learning about the life cycle of a plant today. Please read the passage “Plant Parts” and answer the questions using complete sentences. You can print from the Digital Plan above and save or complete in Seesaw.

WRITING –  I’ve enjoyed reading the informational writing about the life cycles of frogs, sloths, King Cobras, and lady bugs. You all really sound like experts on your topic! Please keep them coming!

MATH – We will continue to practice solving word problems today. You can print Wednesday’s page #17 from the Digital Plan above and save or complete in Seesaw.

SOCIAL STUDIES – We will continue learning about Economics today. Please log into Clever – Use Student ID for username AND password or go through Cobb Digital Library and access Brain Pop Jr. Watch the video for “Saving and Spending” and take the quiz.

We will have our last Class ZOOM Meeting at 10:00 today Look for the Zoom Link in the email sent yesterday. We’ll also be dressing for success for  Virtual Career and College  Week so wear something you might wear to an interview and we’ll take a class picture on Zoom. Watch a funny interview video here. Ms. Stanley will have a Pirate themed treasure hunt /scavenger hunt for her last “Thrilling Thursday Read Aloud”.  I will send parents her Zoom link on tomorrow, May 14th.

Library Book Drop off May 4-14th   A Library box will be out front of the main entrance Monday- Thursday from 9-12pm. Parents can drop off library books daily.
