First week back!

Homeroom– Students will be given agendas, Cobb County folders, and schedules on Monday.  This year students will not need to carry an agenda binder.  Students may chose to put agenda in a binder, but it is not a rule.  Students will not carry backpacks or sling bags into classrooms.  These items will be kept in their lockers.Please bring back paperwork immediately to be able to get a locker!

Blocks 1, 2, 6, 7-( READ 180)– Students will be given an overview of the program this week.  A syllabus for READ 180 will come home and need to be signed by a parent. Supplies are also listed on the syllabus:

  • 3-ring binder
  • 4 dividers
  • Notecards
  • Highlighters -Pens/pencils

This week students will learn class expectations of behavior and how to rotate the sections of the READ 180 classroom!

Block 3- AC 6th grade reading- This week we will discuss behavior expectations at Durham, agenda usage, getting to know one another, and collaborative sharing.  THIRD BLOCK IS ALSO 6th grade lunch block.  We will go over bathroom breaks and cafeteria rules.  We will eat at 11:22-11:47 (Mondays-Thursday) When we have advisement on Friday’s, we eat a little earlier (11:15)

Welcome back students!  This year I will be teaching 6,7, and 8th grade reading. We are going to have a great year together and I can’t wait to get started.

Orientation for homeroom is on Friday.(8th grade for me!) Come say “hi” from 2-3

If you can bring in any donations of candy(for rewards!), hand sanitizer, post it notes, kleenex, clorox wipes- I would greatly appreciated it!

If you are unable to attend orientation, we will see you Monday morning!
