Homeroom updates-

We did it!  Everyone has turned in their paperwork from their Cobb county folders and Reading syllabus’ have been signed and returned.  Most importantly for the students, LOCKERS WERE GIVEN OUT!!  WAY to GO!!

Block 1, 2, 6, 7- READ 180

There a a few students who still need to bring back the reading syllabus.  We have begun to learn how the program READ 180 is set up and the rotations for the lessons.  Students will be taking the Reading Inventory (RI) assessment next week to determine their reading Lexile scores.  This information will be used to set up groups for class rotations. For the remainder of the week, students will continue go through the stations to learn about where things are located and what is expected.  The classes are doing a great job.

Here is a motivational clip from a football athlete that you may want to view. It is only a few minutes long.

BLOCK 3- Accelerated Reading (6th)

We continue learning about Durham and discussing the agenda usage and rules.  We are learning about one another.  The class is truly enjoying one another and I love having each and everyone in the class. Lunch is going smoothly, I think the kids are eating and talking and talking, and talking!

Next week we will be beginning getting to know study habits of the class and learning styles.  I look forward to seeing how the class performs on those!
