Milestones is well and truly upon us. As such, there will be no homework to speak of, and we are doing work for each class in our Milestones testing room after the test has been completed each day. This will be classwork only. If anything changes, I will make a new post immediately.

For Next Week: Testing has altered our schedules tremendously. All you will need to carry is a pencil, notebook paper, math workbook, independent reading book, and your lunch or lunch money. There will be no locker breaks except before school and at the very end of the day. Your phone will not be allowed in testing rooms, so it must be powered off and kept in your locker.

Homework: Directed Reading 26-1 is due tomorrow; Study for tomorrow’s quiz on Sexual vs. Asexual reproduction (check Dr. Bresnan’s blog for review materials!)

 

 

5th Reading with Ms. Copening

Wednesday, April 11

I was in Milestones testing today for all periods except 1st and 2nd (ELA with Mrs. Jackson), so you will need to check Dr. Bresnan’s and Ms. Copening’s blogs for 4th and 5th period.

 

ELA finished up the Desert Biome reading and responded to it using the P.A.S.T strategy (Purpose, Audience, Subject, and Type of writing)

 

Things are going to be hit and miss until Milestones is over, but I will update what I can.

Tuesday, April 10

My apologies for the missing entries from two days before Spring break and from yesterday. There was a technical glitch that made it appear on my end as if I had posted, but my post was invisible to others. Thank you to the parent who alerted me to this!

Classwork: Analyzing a Writing Prompt with practice examples; Read “Desert Biomes” essay and apply writing prompt strategies (we started this but did not finish)

Homework: Study for Thursday’s summative. Summative will cover: Meiosis, Mitosis, Selective Breeding, Genetic Engineering

 

5th Reading with Mrs. Copening

Classwork: Daily Vocabulary Practice; Review Character types – Static, Dynamic, Flat, Round; Begin reading “Zebra” on page 182 of lit book – answer all margin questions titled “Character” or “Making Inferences”

Homework: Catch-up times for Projects will be Tuesday 8:00 AM and Tuesday after school until 5:15 PM;

Misplaced Modifiers homework from last week is due tomorrow (we apologize, but the project was all-consuming and we just didn’t get to it last week!)  Presentations are on Tuesday and Wednesday- dress to impress!
