10-18-18 – Next week is Red Ribbon Week! Here is the information you will need to know (it will also be coming home in your child’s take home folder).
Monday – Wear something RED – and your class t-shirt for our in house field trip. Don’t forget to dress warm!
Tuesday – Crazy hat, hair, or sock day.
Wednesday – East Side spirit wear or colors.
Thursday – Favorite sports team shirts or colors.
Friday – Favorite superhero costume.
10-18-18 – Our Creek and Cherokee In House Field Trip will be on Monday at 8:15 am. Thank you to the parents who volunteered to come in and help with stations! I wanted to let you know that your child will need to bring a jacket and wear long sleeves and pants that day in case it is a colder morning. The field trip will be held outside. Thank you!
10-15-18 – Good morning parents! As you know, the Teacher Auction has begun, and I was so thrilled to see that we already have 3 bidders! Just to give you a little more information, I am offering to treat 3 students to breakfast at Waffle House. Then they will get to ride to school with me (which I think they seemed the most excited about as I discussed it this morning). 🙂 We talked about what an auction is, how to out bid someone, and how to be the auction winner. We will check every morning to see if the bidding has changed, so please keep your kids in the loop if you make an offer. They seemed very interested in the bidding process! Don’t forget there are other cool options to bid on as well! I can’t wait to see who I get to spend the morning at Waffle House with!!! Click on the link below to make a bid!

10-14-18 – Just a reminder that next week is conference week and early release. Please be sure that your child knows how they are going home and I have a hand written note if they are going home a different way than usual. There will be no best clubs after school this week, but ASP is still an option. If it is easiest for you to send in one note on Monday with the dismissal schedule for the entire week, that would be fine too!
If you have scheduled a morning conference with me, I will meet you at the side doors near the P.E. gym since that is the closest entrance to our classroom.
Don’t forget we have a different lunch time this week (see previous post).
I’m really looking forward to sitting down with everyone this week! See you soon!
10-11-18 – We will be taking our last test of the quarter tomorrow on government! Please use the resources (magazines, government flip books, etc.) in your take home folder to review tonight! The Sailors are also bringing home a really cool government poster that one of our parents gave us. Thank you to Judge Peterson for coming in and speaking to our class about rules and laws and our government! 🙂
10-11-18 – Just a couple of reminders! Today is early release. Dismissal will be 2 hours earlier than usual. Lunch will be from 11:14 – 11:44. This will be the same schedule for all of next week. Also, the pumpkin book reports have started coming in and they are so cool! Don’t forget the due date for that project is on Monday! You will get to see all of their great work during conference week. 🙂

10-3-18 – This Friday is Falcon’s Friday Spirit Day! Wear your best Falcon’s gear or colors to support our Atlanta Falcons!
Don’t forget our Fire Safety field trip is tomorrow! Here are some reminders:
- Wear tennis shoes
- If you pack a lunch EVERYTHING has to be disposable – including containers, lunch bags, and water bottles. Please label your lunch with your name on it!
- We leave at 9:30 and will return right before dismissal
- I will pass out field trip shirts in the morning and they will bring it home to be washed and kept at home after school
10-1-18 – Thank you for getting your permission slips, waivers, and fire safety homework in! We are very excited for the Fire Safety Field Trip this Thursday! I have everyone’s class t-shirts but will hold on to them until it is time to wear it that morning. They will bring them home that afternoon. Please keep them somewhere safe because we will not be able to order more in the middle of the school year if it is lost. Your child will need to wear tennis shoes on this day. Also, if you are not buying a school lunch, you will need to pack a sack lunch that is completely disposable. They do not allow us to bring Tupperware, containers, or water bottles. If your lunch is not disposable, they will need to buy a school lunch. Also, please make sure the lunch is labeled clearly with your child’s name on it. We will leave school at 9:30 and return around 1:45. Looking forward to it!
9-18-18 – Parents with siblings at East Side have received an email from me this morning with the link to sign up for your Teacher Parent Conference. Only one parent needs to sign up, but both are welcome to attend. Please get your date and time in ASAP because sign ups will open to all other parents on September 20. The last day to sign up for a conference time is on Oct. 1. After the deadline I will pick a day and time for you. Please let me know if you have siblings at East Side and did not receive an email this morning. Thank you and I’m looking forward to meeting with you all soon!
