Reading Bowl Invitations are being sent home this week. (April 17, 2017)
If your child is interested in joining our competitive reading team, please email [email protected] by May 1, 2017.
If your child is invited to try out, he/she will be assigned a book to read and to write questions. Instructions will be sent home. The Cobb competition will be held on January 13, 2018 at a local Cobb school.
The reading list for the 2017-2018 competition may be found on the Georgia Children’s Book Award site.
Submit questions for books through Quizlet: www.quizlet.com
(Email Ms. Crosby if you need the login credentials.)
Click “create a study set”
Set Title: Title of book – your initials (Example: The False Prince-AC)
Type your questions on the left under “terms” and answers on the right under “definitions”. Include the page number next to the answer in case we need to check it.
Click the + symbol to write additional questions.
Click “create” when compete.
-Remember to submit at least thirty questions per book.
-Do not create multiple sets for one book. You can go back and edit your sets – add to them at different times.
-Do not edit any other sets of questions other than your own.
Questions must be written in the following format:
ITB, The False Prince, what was the name of the mute girl who helped Sage?

1. Write your questions as you read. Keep paper and pencil with you so that you write them as you read.
2. Type your questions later.
3. Do not write “Yes” or “No” questions or long-answer questions.
4. Submit questions with an ipad and use the microphone feature.
