This week we will look at characteristics of teachers who work with young children.

Digital Leaning Week 7

Hello! Hope everyone is doing well. I have a challenge for you. Let’s make a difference in a child’s life during this difficult time.

Find a young relative/ neighbor/ sibling/ friend’s sibling who you can support digitally in their academics. Even if it’s just reading aloud to them or let them read aloud to you.

Here’s the Plan for this week:

This week you will “create a toddler”. In your packet, there is an assignment where you research all things toddler and then create a toddler based on your research. You will describe what s/he can and cannot do, his/her likes and dislikes, his/her fears, personality traits, etc…

You will also research a “controversial” topic about toddlers. This page and its guidelines are also in your packet.

ECE2:

Ugh… I hate to throw this topic out there but we need to cover communicable diseases. We normally do an ABC book of communicable diseases that impact babies through school age children. You will pick a disease to research and create a PowerPoint about that disease. Some examples are:

Common Contagious Diseases in Kids
Common Cold
Head Lice
Flu or Influenza
Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease
Conjunctivitis
Chicken Pox
Pinworms
Gastroenteritis
Measles
Hepatitis A

DIGITAL LEARNING: WEEK 4

Hope everyone had a restful Spring Break. Starting this week we will have a 4 day school week. Please contact me if you need make up assignments for missed work prior to our leaving.

Toddler Packet: Research Children’s toys. What were your favorite toys as a child? Why? Was there ever a toy you HAD to have only to find it really wasn’t all that great? Do activity C p. 151 in the toddler packet.

ECE2:

We will conclude our nutrition unit this week. Please finish Super Foods packets and turn them in digitally by Friday. BONUS: Create a meal incorporating as many Super Foods as possible. Send me a picture through REMIND!  🙂

My pasta dish has 8 superfoods in it!! (broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, cauliflower, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, garlic and grilled salmon)!! I’m making it Thursday. I’ll send a picture!

Digital Learning: Week 3

Well, this is turning out to be our new reality. Hope you are all making the best of this. Miss you all  terribly!! This week I want to change things up for ALL classes. Your assignment is to create a “Rap” song about a topic we have covered so far in class. You are to film it with your phone and submit it by Thursday afternoon. Minimum: 1 minute in length

Must be a Rap

Topic must be clearly stated

10 facts about your topic must be embedded in rap

You may work with a partner or members at your table (VIRTUALLY!!!) If you do, everyone needs to be in the video.

ECE 3: Interns/ Practicum

Both classes will begin studying the teaching of students with special needs. We will learn the laws that ensure all students get equal access to education and strategies to help these students learn.

ECE Week 7: 2/24

Here’s what’s coming up this week:

ECE1:   We finished our Egg Baby social experiment. Many babies did not survive the week… so sad…

We will now begin to learn how different cultures approach child rearing and education.
