Beta Club Meeting Tuesday, Oct. 2nd

  • Dues must be paid before Thanksgiving.
  • Remember to bring an absence note if you miss a meeting.  You are only allowed three absences per semester.
  • Remember to sign up for volunteer hours at Mountain View.  See 9/18 blog for info.
  • Poster making for Refuge Rescue will need to be rescheduled due to the fact that both Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Healy have prior meeting commitments.  Stay tuned!
  • Next meeting will be Tuesday, Oct. 16th at 8:10 am.

Beta Club Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 18th, 2018

  • Congratulations to our new officers! Co-Presidents: Manya Chugh and Melanie Zhang. Recording Secretaries: Lily Bateman and Aedan Macaulay.
  • Volunteer Opportunity: Volunteers needed at Mountainview Elementary for the upcoming Festival on Friday, October 12th from 6-8:30pm.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the meeting on Oct. 2nd.  ASK YOUR PARENTS FIRST!  ONCE YOU COMMIT, YOU MAY NOT BACK OUT!
  • Do you have ideas for service projects?  Bring your ideas to the meeting!  We are always looking for ways to help our members earn hours.
  • Please remember to sign up for Beta Club Remind.  Text @htmsbeta to 81010.
  • Don’t forget to pay your dues.  Deadline for payment will be Oct. 31st.  If your dues are not paid by then, you will be taken  off the Beta Club roll. Dues are $20 for new members and $5 for returning 8th grade members.  Make checks payable to HTMS and mark the “other” section on the envelope with “Beta Club Dues.”

Beta Club Meeting Tuesday, Sept. 4th, 2018

The National Beta Club is an organization for 4th through 12th grade students in the United States. Its purpose is “to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, leadership and service among elementary and secondary school students.

  • The HTMS Beta Club will be the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 8:10 in the morning.  Our next meeting will be Sept. 18th.
  • Dues are $20 for new members and $5 for returning 8th grade members.  Make checks payable to HTMS and mark the “other” section on the envelope with “Beta Club Dues.”
  • We need leadership!  If you are interested in taking a leadership position, please come to the next meeting with a short speech to deliver to the group.
  • Remember that you must have 10 hours by the end of the first semester.  Here is a service hour sheet you can use to keep track of your hours: service hour sheet
  • If you are absent from a meeting (you can only miss THREE meetings per semester), please check this blog!  It will be updated the day of the meeting by the end of the day.
