Culinary Arts 1 10/4/16

Culinary Arts 1 students are finishing up with chapter 5 in the Foundations Level 1 textbook. This week we will cut up chickens into 8 pieces, then Friday we will start chapter 6 on Soups, stocks, and Sauces.

Intro to Culinary 10/4/16

Intro classes have completed all their chapters on kitchen bsics and now we really start cooking!  Up to now we have concentrated on how to read a recipe, how to measure, knives skils, cooking methods, and some cooking terms. Chapter reading guides are attached.

Intro to Culinary 8/19/16

We have finished the chapters on Safety & Sanitation. Students will take the test next Tuesday. Attached are the reading guides for these chapters.

Intro to Culinary Arts 8/14/16

Welcome to the new school year.  During the first two weeks students have been learning about the history of the foodservice industry. We took a quiz this past Friday and the grades are posted. Now we are starting on the Safety and Sanitation unit. Students must pass the test on Safety and Sanitation before they are allowed to participate in labs. Intro to Culinary Arts 11-30-15

During the two weeks before Thanksgiving, this class worked on a Careers unit.  We culminated the unit with a research paper on a career of their choice. This week we will study yeast breads and then baking.  Attached will be the PPTs and reading guides for the Career chapters and yeast breads.
