All about Mrs. Homer
Hi there! Welcome to our class. 🙂 I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Tracey Homer. I am a native of Cobb County so I also attended and graduated from Cobb County schools. I started college at KSU, got married and took classes at Auburn University and when my husband graduated we moved back home to Cobb. I completed my studies and graduated from KSU in 1998. This is my 4th year at Pitner Elementary. Before being transferred, I was at Chalker Elementary as a parent for 10 years and an educator for 1 year. I am looking forward to continuing on as the 4th & 5th Small Group teacher and I am excited to be back in 4th grade for Co-Taught Science & Social Studies with my friend Mrs. Poulos!!
I married my high school sweetheart Rob in 1996 and have been married 22 years this September. We have three kiddos; Jared: age 18- my musical instrument collector & computer guru, Kevin: age 17- fact man, robotics, cooking and fisherman extraordinaire and our daughter Ryan (aka Pinkie): age 15- artist, swimmer, cellist, robotics and being girly-girly-girl. My kids go to KSU, South Cobb and Kell. They keep me very busy outside of school with robotics, music concerts and their school events. We LOVE to travel, especially to the beach in the summer, the lake to visit my parents and to Orlando to see the mouse.
We have three bengal cats; Aubie, Ramsay and Haley. Our doggie Wallace is my spoiled baby. He rules the roost and he knows it. This summer Kevin adopted a pair of adult bearded dragons named Blackbeard and Saphira. I got a bunny in the fall, her name is Hobbes. Pinkie cared for our class frog, Kermit and we also have and eel and an angelfish (Tarzan & Gabriel), a frog (Optimus Prime), crawfish (Cookie Monster & Sully), a saltwater tank and a turtle named Grumpy Cat. Sadly, this summer we lost our beloved hedgehog, Commander Chris Hadfield aka Rocket. She had cancer surgery in the spring and had a recurrence in June. We miss her terribly. We love our pets and I talk about them a bunch during class.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year and I cannot wait to see some familiar faces and get to know my new friends. Please let me know if you ever have any questions, comments or concerns. Feel free to email me at [email protected]
