Hello Parents and Students!

Only five more days until winter break!  This is going to be an exciting week!

We will be exchanging Valentines on Thursday, February 14th.  Please send in your child’s cards by Tuesday of this week.

Friday is STEM day!  The students will be presenting their “Hibernation Stations”.  Please join us from 8:30 – 9:15 in the classroom.  We will be on a different schedule that day.  We’ll have sack lunches in the cafeteria at 11:34.  Students will get to watch a special program in the afternoon.

In math this week, we will continue with 2 digit addition and subtraction using the strategies of an open number line and drawing base ten blocks.

During reader’s workshop, we will be reading some Valentine books and determining the central message of stories.

We have completed our study of Theodore Roosevelt.

In honor of Valentine ’s Day, we will be studying the heart and muscles in health.

This week’s enrichment schedule is as follows:

MONDAY – Day 6 – Music

TUESDAY– Day 1 – STEM

WEDNESDAY– Day 2 – Math Lab

THURSDAY – Day 3 – PE

Hello Parents and Students!

Only 10 more days until the end of the second quarter!

We’ll continue working on blends during phonics instruction.

We will finish our unit on Thomas Jefferson and begin a unit on nutrition and healthy eating habits.

All items will be delivered to MUST Ministries for their Toy Shop benefitting needy families in our community. Please contact our school counselors if you have any questions about the Giving Tree.
