STARVILLE

March7

Hello Nicholson Star Families! We are hosting our first annual play based career development centers for our first grade and kindergarten students on Friday March 16th from 8:00-11:30.  The Department of Education requires first grade students to learn about the following career clusters, Agriculture, Distribution and Transportation, Public Safety, and Hospitality. The first graders and kindergartners have been working very hard the last two months learning about career education and what they want to be when they grow up! We are turning our hallway into our own little town and partnering with local business owners to help understand these clusters in full detail. The kindergartners will be kicking us off with a parade dressed up in their own special uniforms and then going to each business as a full paying customer. The first grade classrooms will be either a Waffle House, a Fire Station, a Home Depot, a Kroger, and a farm to teach our kindergartners the ins and outs of these professions. We hope to really show off what we have been learning in a fun way! YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME!

We are very excited about next week’s “No Place for Hate Week” at Nicholson. Two deputies from the Cobb County Sherriff’s department are coming to Nicholson to meet with all of our students and reinforce important topics like safety and good citizenship.
