Fernbank Field Trip 4-10-18

Tomorrow is our Fernbank Field Trip! Please make sure you dress accordingly for the weather and wear tennis shoes. If you are bringing a lunch from home, EVERYTHING has to be disposable (including water bottles and containers). If your child does not have a disposable lunch, they will have to purchase a school lunch. You need to write on the lunch bag your child’s name and Mrs. Stephens. If your child is buying a lunch from school, I will write their name and my name on the bag. Be sure to wear your gray class t-shirt

Thank you!

Mrs. Stephens

Spring Break is Here!

Dear Wise Guys,

The students are thrilled that Spring Break has finally arrived!  They deserve the much needed break.  I hope that you all have a wonderful week off from school and try to enjoy every minute you can with one another.  Whether you are in or out of town, take the opportunity to get outside, look for signs of spring, and talk about the day.

School will be closed during the week of April 2-6.

Be safe in your travels and I look forward to seeing you all the following week.

Sincerely,

Deborah Stephens

STEM

Wise Guys,

We are getting ready for our next two STEM lessons coming up in March.  For one, we will be designing a toy that may used by small groups of kids (2-4) and to use force of motion.  The second STEM lesson will be designing a rainbow bridge that can withstand the weight of “gold.”  The students will be trying to see how MANY coins their engineered bridge may hold as well as see how MUCH money they can hold before the bridge caves.  The kids are doing so well with STEM and look forward to having the planned activities each month.

I would love to have families begin saving your used toilet paper and paper towel rolls.  Our supply of the rolls have been depleting over the last few months and I’d like to build it up again.  So, please send in the rolls at your convenience and I will store them for later use.

Thank you in advance,

Mrs. Stephens
