Good afternoon, Global Citizens and Math Brains!  Here are the highlights from today.

Social Studies: Today in class we examined the 5 pieces that make up the puzzle of Social Studies.  Those pieces are geography, history, govenrment, culture, and economy. We defined each piece, wrote a focus question for each piece, and made a connection about each piece to your own life.  There is no homework tonight.

Math: Today in class we reviewed whole number division with whole number remainders.  We solved these problems using long division. Here are the answers to your homework and a link to a video helping you with numbers 4, 5, and 6 if you need it.

Good afternoon Global Citizens and Math Brains!  What a great Monday I had with you.  Here are some notes and reminders from our day.

  • Social Studies kiddos – Today in class we took the geography pre-test. I also passed a Mapping Earth’s Surface worksheet.  Don’t worry about doing anything on the front, we will look at that together in class tomorrow.  I would like you to finish the back of the page for homework tonight.  Below is a link with some information that should help you log into the on line text book, but if the link does not work well for you, please feel free to use another resource to finish.  We will go over this in class tomorrow to make sure you have accurate answers.
  • Math Kiddos – Today in class we started our MSG.  Your MSG is a resource that we will use frequently and it is expected that you bring it to class daily.  I also passed out the weekly skills review.  If you did not finish the problems for Monday in class please finish them at home tonight.  The weekly skills review will be collected and graded Friday.

All kiddos – Please make sure you are coming with all the necessary supplies.  Pencils, a blue or black pen, highlighters, and colored pencils should be with you in your binder.  Prepare to be successful!

See you tomorrow!  Have a great night.

Hello Global Citizens and Math Brains,

Yay!  You made it to Friday!  🙂  There is no homework over the weekend, but here are a couple important reminders.

Homeroom kiddos – bring a device if you have one Monday so we can log in to PBIS.  This is how you will check your strikes throughout the year.

Math Kiddos – make sure you have a composition notebook Monday.  We will be setting up our math notebooks.  Composition notebooks hold up A LOT better than spiral notebooks, and we use them frequently in class.

Have a greet weekend!  See you Monday!

Hello Global Citizens and Math Brains,

It was a WONDERFUL first day with you, and I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with you in class today.  I know the first day of school can feel long, and teachers give you all sorts of information.  Checking your teachers’ blogs is a great habit to form, and a good place to look to make sure you are remembering important information, dates, and details.

Homeroom: Today you received a Cobb County folder with beginning of the year paperwork in it.  Here are the things I need back from you.

Social Studies: Today in class we looked at global characteristics if the population of the world was reduced to 100 people.  We made it further in 2nd block than we did in 1st due to homeroom time running a little long, so we will wrap this up tomorrow. Homework tonight was to check my blog, so if you are reading this, your homework is done!

Math: Today in class we did our first SCOOT so I could get to know you and your math brain! Homework tonight was to check my blog, so if you are reading this, your homework is done!

See you tomorrow kiddos!  Have a great night. 🙂

Hello Kiddos!  I am SO excited to meet you tomorrow at our 6th Grade Camp.  We will get to show you arround the school, take you to your locker (and help you open it), and we will be giving you your schedule so you can find all your classes and say a quick hello to all of your teachers!  I am thrilled to be a part of your middle school adventure.  See you tomorrow!
