Hello Math and Science Brains,

Today in class we….

Math 6 (blocks 1 & 2) – Reviewed rate and ratio.  You have a quiz tomorrow that is open note, so don’t forget your MSG.  Ratio and Unit Rate Quizizz will help you study.  The game code is 708003.

Science (block 3) – Reviewed for the metamorphic and sedimentary test tomorrow.  Here is the link to the quizizz I posted yesterday to help you study. The game code is 136856.

Metamorphic and Sedimentary Quizizz

AC Math (blocks 4 & 5) – Found the percent of a whole number using models and the part/total = %/100 ratio.  Homework tonight is p. 261, #1-7.

See you tomorrow!

Hello Kiddos,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2) – Took MSG notes on unit rate.  Your homework tonight is the Ratio and Unit Rate worksheet.  Block 1, you need to complete #1 & #2, then either the left side or the right side of the paper (your choice).  Block 2, please complete #1-11 only.

Science (Block 3) – Finished the notes on metamorphic rocks.  Today’s warm up is:  What are the 3 types of sedimentary rock and how does each form?  Your homework tonight is to complete the quiz on the quizizz website.  The game code is 136856.

Please bring your device to class tomorrow!

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5) – Blocks 4 & 5 did different things today.  Block 4, you finished the unit conversion classwork and check in.  Block 5, you finished the unit conversion check in and started notes on modeling the percent of a number.  There is no assigned homework for either class.

See you tomorrow. 🙂

Hello Math and Science Brains,

It was nice to see you today! Welcome back from your weekend. 🙂  Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2) – Looked at scaling to as a way to determine if ratios are equivalent.  Tonight’s homework is p. 230, #1-5.

Science (Block 3) – Finished notes on sedimentary rocks and started notes on metamorphic rocks.  The test on those rocks is Thursday.  Below is a link to a quizizz that will help you study.  There is content on the quizizz that we will cover tomorrow, so don’t stress if something looks unfamiliar.  Homework tonight is to finish the rock vocabulary and to finish the warm up if you did not finish it in class.  The warm up is: Define sediment.  What are the processes that create sediment?

game code is 136856.

AC Math (Block 4 & 5) – Completed a unit rate scoot where you used ratio tables to set up and organize information about various units of measurement.  Tonight’s homework is p. 123, #1-10.

To all classes – I am behind on grading and I apologize.  I have a file folder with items for each class that will be added to Synergy this week and over the break.  Hurricane Irma has had a direct and lasting impact on members of our family (who are currently staying with us) and as a result, the amount of work I am able to accomplish in the evening has been impacted.  Rest assured, I will get caught up.  If you have specific questions about anything please let me know.  Check Synergy over the week for updates to the grade book.

Hello Kiddos,

There is no assigned homework over the weekend other than to bring a dry erase marker on Monday if I am your math teacher.  Have a great weekend! SYM! 🙂

Mrs. Rudd

Hello Mathies and Scientists,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Started Unit 2, which deals with ratios, rates, and percent.  We watched a Math Antics video (Ratio Video) and placed the Unit 2 section in our MSGs.  Tonight’s homework is to finish the Unit 2 vocabulary.  Block 1 – please finish the 5 things you learned from the video (you may use the link to watch it again).  Block 2 – we will finish that part in class tomorrow since we ran out of time.

Science (Block 3): Took the rock cycle and igneous rock test.  There is no assigned homework tonight.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Took the open note rate and ratio quiz.  I will give you a few minutes to finish up in class tomorrow.  There is no assigned homework tonight.

Please bring in a dry erase marker by Monday, September 18 if you are in one of my math classes.

See you tomorrow, kiddos.  Have a nice night.

9-13-17 II

Hello again,

As many of my mathematicians have noticed, our dry erase markers are getting a little beat up and worn out.  Please come to class with your own marker (just one will do) by Monday, September 18.  I believe our school store sells individual dry erase markers for under a dollar. Of course you are welcome to purchase them from anywhere, but buying from the store saves your grown ups from making another trip to the store. 🙂

Thank you!

Mrs. Rudd

Hello Math and Science Kiddos,

It was nice to see all of you back today after the weather related days off school.  I know Irma directly impacted many of your friends and family members, and I hope that life is back to normal for them soon.

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2):  Finished the Unit 1 test.  We will start unit 2 tomorrow.  There is no assigned homework tonight since we did not start any new content.

Science (Block 3): Reviewed for the rock cycle and igneous rock test tomorrow.  Here is the link to the quizlet.

Study Cards

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Practiced finding and comparing unit rate to determine the better “deal” between two products.  Tonight’s homework is the rate, ratio, and unit rate worksheet.  Everyone needs to do #1 and #2.  After that finish either the right or left side of the paper.  There is an open note quiz tomorrow.

See you later!

Hello Kiddos,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Reviewed for the Unit 1 test. Homework tonight is to study.  Use the link below to check the work you finished in class today.

Unit One – PPT Review with answers-282hv15

Science (Block 3): Investigated some characteristics of igneous rocks.  Your homework tonight is to answer the following warm up question:  Explain the difference in the composition of a rock and the texture of a rock.  (your SSG notes on the rock cycle will help you with this)

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Learned how to determine the unit rate of two items.  Your homework tonight is to finish the examples in your MSG.

See you tomorrow! 🙂

Hello Kiddos,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Divided fractions using standard algorithm.  Homework tonight is to finish any class work that did not get done today.  If you finished your classwork in class then there is no homework for you. 🙂

Science (Block 3): Took notes on igneous rocks.  Homework is to complete this warm up question: What are some differences between intrusive and extrusive igneous rocks?  Answer this in a complete sentence and remember to reflect on what you did in class today.

AC Math (Block 4 & 5):  Took MSG notes on ratios and started to discuss unit.  Homework tonight is p. 191, # 1-10.

See you tomorrow!
