Hello Math and Science Brains,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Took notes on finding the surface area of rectangular prisms.  Homework tonight is p. 672, #1-3.  This homework is due Friday.  Please use time tonight and tomorrow to finish this week’s warm up.  It is a review on inequalities, and Friday the time I give you in class will be used to transfer your answers to a scantron.

Science (Block 3): Continued making progress with the water cycle projects.  They are really looking good, kiddos!  We will use class time tomorrow and Friday to finish up.

AC Math 6 (Blocks 4 & 5): Took MSG note on finding the surface area of a pyramid.  Homework tonight is p. 693, #2-5.  This homework is due Friday.  Please use time tonight and tomorrow to finish this week’s warm up.  It is a review on inequalities, and Friday the time I give you in class will be used to transfer your answers to a scantron.

See you tomorrow, kiddos!

Hello Math and Science Brains,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Explored surface area and built and examined nets of prisms and pyramids.  There is no assigned homework tonight.

Science (Block 3): Collected the transpiration samples from the plants we bagged before the break.  Homework tonight is to finish part 2 of the lab.

I

I had so much fun being your science teacher today. 🙂

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Took MSG notes on the surface area of triangular prisms.  Homework tonight is p. 683, #3-4.

2-16-18

Good afternoon, kiddos!

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Explored surface area by building rectangular prisms, triangular prisms, and triangular pyramids from their nets.  Homework tonight is to know your exact grade in class, so check synergy.

Science (Block 3): Made some progress with the water cycle project.  Homework tonight is to bring any materials you need by Thursday.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Took MSG notes on finding the surface area of a rectangular prism.  Homework tonight is p. 673, #1-5.  Also know your exact grade in class, I will ask you about it tomorrow.

🙂

Hello Math and Science Brains!  Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Practiced with composite area.  Homework tonight is to finish the second half of the composite area problems.

Science (Block 3): Diagramed the water cycle and defined some of the vocabulary associated with it.  Remember to bring your colored pencils tomorrow.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Reviewed for the area and volume test tomorrow. Here are the questions and answers we practiced in class. Volume and Area Review-1dcxxx7

Remember to bring your calculator, you will not be allowed to use your phones.

2-12-18

Hello Kiddos,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Took the triangle check in and started composite area notes.  Homework tonight is to finish the triangle check in if you did not finish it in class and to complete the first 2 columns (8 problems) on the homework you were given tonight. You do have an area and volume test on Friday.  Here is the study guide. Study Guide for Area and Volume Test-1hhsu6h

Science (Block 3): Learned a little bit more about the water cycle from Bill Nye. Please bring colored pencils tomorrow.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Reviewed volume.  Your area and volume test is Wednesday.  Here is the study guide. Study Guide for Area and Volume Test-1hhsu6h

2-9-18

Hello Math and Science Brains,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Practiced applying the formula for triangles to solve area problems. There is no assigned homework over the weekend, but if you have missed school please read yesterday’s post for make up information.

Science (Block 3): Reviewed some water cycle information.  There is no assigned homework over the weekend, but see yesterday’s post if you need to make up work from this week due to absences.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Practiced applying the formula for volume of a rectangular prism to solve volume problems. There is no assigned homework over the weekend, but if you have missed school please read yesterday’s post for make up information.

Have a wonderful weekend!

2-8-18 IMPORTANT MAKE UP INFORMATION

Hello Kiddos,

Today in class we…

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2): Took MSG notes and practiced finding the area of a triangle.  Homework tonight is p. 591, #1-6.

Science (Block 3): Took a quiz on ocean composition and topography.  The quiz was open note and if you did not finish in class homework tonight is to finish it at home.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5): Took MSG notes on finding the volume of a rectangular prism.  Homework tonight is p. 649, #4-7.

IMPORTANT MAKE UP INFORMATION – ALL CLASSES

I have had about 25% of my students absent from class this week due to strep and flu.  My own child missed 5 days of school, and I know that making up work and keeping up with current content can be overwhelming (it is for teachers too).  Please see below for information about your class as far as make up work and notes are concerned.

Math 6 (Blocks 1 & 2):

Here are MSG notes on finding the area of a parallelogram and the check-in that is due.  If you have not taken this in class, this is the only work you are responsible for making up.  Word files of the MSG notes can be found below the pictures.  The Parallelogram Check In is open note, so feel free to use your MSG.

Area of Parallelograms Check In-16bnc3i

Here are the triangle notes we took today:

Here is a word file of the notes for you to use in your MSG:Triangle MSG Notes-1ttiiie

There will be a triangle check in next week.  I will post that on my blog Monday for those of you still out.

Science (Block 3): Here is the open note, open book (if you have been out and missed the notes) quiz on ocean water and ocean topography.  2018 extended response Qs and test-1k7o9mm Multiple choice questions ONLY.  You are not required to do the constructed responses.

AC Math (Blocks 4 & 5):  We completed composite area and have moved on to volume.  Below are pictures and files for the MSG notes on composite area, the shapes you will need for your MSG, and the composite area graded classwork that needs to be completed and turned in.  You will also find notes on volume, but there is not a graded class assignment for that.
